Attractions and Features
One of the ruins of the war, called “Katashima”, is located in the central part of Nagasaki Prefecture, Kawatana town. There are four main areas, the main track visible from the parking lot, the ruins of the test site, the ruins of the observatory, and the new observatory. The passage to the new observatory ruins has collapsed greatly, and there is a display of the entry prohibition because it is dangerous.
Each facility has a considerable number of years after construction, so there is a possibility of collapse every day.When you visit or take a photo, please check the latest notices on the site and ask them to act safely first.
Traffic access
It is a 20-minute drive from Nagasaki Expressway Higashisonogi IC. There is a parking lot in the area around 2018, and access to the test site is also very good.Please follow the local instructions during the event.
