Nagasaki Kunchi is a festival that is popular with Nagasaki citizens for a long time in the autumn Festival of Suwa Shrine which continues from the Edo period.There are a lot of famous skit such as Kokkodessho, Japanese Mikoshi, and the Whale, and the Dragon Dance, and have you seen it on TV once?
As for the system, each dance town dedicate that skit dance to the god of Suwa Shrine.
In addition, during the period, the three pillars of the Suwa Shrine will be moved to a place called “Otabisho” near Nagasaki Port. It called “Okudari” which means “go down”.
