Attractions and Features
The Spectacle Bridge, called as “Meganebashi”, is a stone arch bridge on the Nakashimagawa River which flows through the center of Nagasaki City. This Japan oldest stone arch bridge, except for the Ryukyu Kingdom, was built by the Kofuku-ji priest in 1634.
The Arch of the bridge and the arch reflecting on the surface of the water are called “Megane” because it looks like glasses, and it is loved by the citizens long as an icon of Nagasaki.
Moreover, it is a bridge which became the model of the double Bridge of the imperial Palace in Tokyo although it is not known very much.
Nakashimagawa River has good water quality and can see carp in river.Because the Shirasagi is flying, it is not troubled with the subject of the photograph. There are benches and a small park in the vicinity, so you can spend time in the riverside.

Recommended! It is about 5 minutes on foot after getting off at the “Glasses Bridge” electric stop on the Nagasaki Electric Tramway.
It will arrive within 10 minutes from the center of Nagasaki City.
The route bus in Nagasaki City does not recommend it very much because it does not pass near the spectacle bridge depending on the stopover. The nearest bus stop is “Shinwa Bank Mae”.
There is no free parking nearby. The nearby self-propelled parking “Nigiwai Bridge Parking” is also recommended for a number of accommodation.
