Attractions and Features
It takes about an hour by car from Nagasaki City to the east. Iwado Shrine is located in the mountains towards Shimabara. A large rock shrine in the back of the gazebo of the top picture is a sacred body, and a small shrine is set up in front of it.
There are trees such as maple and ginkgo in the precincts, and you can enjoy the scenery from early summer to autumn. In the summertime, the nearby “somen”, which means cold noodles, shops are also thriving, and the water and air are very clear and pleasant place to be in the mountains.
It is one of the places that you want to visit even if you are not interested in taking pictures.
※ The autumnal leaves color change of Iwado shrine are a little earlier than a general maple, and even if it is already scattered at the stage that Nagasaki city is turning red.It is necessary to be careful because there is a pattern to be fallen leaves without turning red.
Traffic access
There is a park-only parking lot in front of the gate.It is about 5 minutes walk by parking there. The capacity of the parking lot is about 18 units. There is a restroom.
