Attractions and Features
It appeared in numerous literary works and films, and the church which represented Nagasaki was the World Heritage Registration in 2018 as Oura Cathedral. The name of “the Cathedral” is a word commonly seen in various parts of Kyushu including the Goto islands, and it means the church.
There are a lot of people who are sightseeing together because it is near the Glover Garden.
It is a church dedicated to the 26 Christians who were martyred at the hill of Nishizaka in the center of Nagasaki City in the Momoyama period of the Japan twenty-six St Martyrs ‘ Cathedral. About the twenty-six Saints Martyrs site is written here.
As the position to take a picture, the cathedral front is also good, but recommended is a “kinen-zaka” which means “prayer’s slope” extending to wrap around the side of the cathedral from the side. This road is a hidden photo spot because there is a very atmosphere in the average tourist hardly comes.

Traffic access
Recommended! Get off at the “Oura Catholic Church” station on the Nagasaki electric orbit, about 5 minutes on foot. I recommend walking shoes because you can climb the cobbled streets lined with souvenir shops.
The road in front of Oura Catholic Church is prohibited by vehicle traffic during the day. You may get off the taxi under the slope and climbed the slope in front of the souvenir shop.It is about 10 minutes from the city centre.
Get off at the “Glover-en Mae” bus stop on the Nagasaki bus and walk for about 5 minutes.
There is no free parking, so you can park in the nearby paid parking lot. The nearest parking lot is the Matsugaecho Dai 2 parking lot.You can find the location on Google maps below.
