Attractions and Features
The name of the small mountain which can overlook Nagasaki is called “Kaza-gashira” when going to the east a little from Nagasaki city centre. Kazagashira Park is a park spread over the kazagashira mountain area.
350 cherry blossom tree are planted around the symbol of the park and the bronze statue of Ryoma Sakamoto, who is famous of a prominent figure in the movement to overthrow the Tokugawa shogunate, and the Cherry Blossom Festival is held in spring. In the evening, you can also enjoy the cherry blossoms lit up.
The point of the cherry blossom viewing is the observatory in the north of the park or the statue of Ryoma.You can also take a three-dimensional picture using the shape of a park rich in undulating (second photo).
Traffic access
Both tram and JR are out of range.
Recommended!It is easily accessible from the center of Nagasaki City.
Take the bus from Nagasaki city to the “Kazagashira-yama” line and get off at the end.The ride time is about 15 minutes.It takes five minutes to get to the park.
There is no free parking.Please park in the nearby paid parking lot.The nearest entrance is Ogawa-Hata, kite shop. This is a privately owned car park with a key deposit.The fee is 200 yen per hour (as of 2019).
